Kiel Kitchen Remodel
What Makes This SO Unique?
Not only did the Homeowners want new cabinets and countertops, but also changed their kitchen window from a standard Casement to a Bigger Bay window to allow more light into the Kitchen. To allow light to pass through the cabinetry, Drexel added glass doors with custom paint on the cabinetry ends directly next to the window to allow the natural light to pass through and into the rest of the room. The homeowners also added under the counter lighting on the island to make it the focal point instead of the perimeter cabinetry.
Challenges Faced
Our mission at Drexel is to Supply.Happiness to all of our customers. In doing so, some projects face challenges. Specifically, a challenge with this project was removing the walls that separated the kitchen from the dining room. We wanted to essentially incorporate the kitchen with the dining room to transform it into a ‘Open Concept’ layout. By removing those walls, there was less wall space for appliances. We were able to utilize the space where a closet once was and place the Refrigerator and Pantry there instead.
Details
The White Cabinetry we selected contrasted well with the existing Maroon walls in the dining room. We added the Sherwin Williams Take Five color to the back of the glass door cabinetry as well as the open bookshelf on the island to add some color interest.
