Drexel Volunteers For Habitat for Humanity 2013
A bunch of team blue members donated their Saturday from 9-3 and helped out a family, (her name was Beauty and you could feel her energy 100 feet away!), live the American dream of a new home for her family.
It was a remarkable day. Dan Smith chose to volunteer with his wife Sara on his birthday even!
I saw many many smiles, we learned some stuff: Betsy successfully cut concrete, I pretty much butchered the electrical boxes I was taught to hang, Megan and Steph Rinzel will never get that caulk off, Scott Rosenthal got to apply extension jambs (which he has done for over 10 years…) , Bronco got to work on something vertically and not horizontally, Richard worked hand in hand with his son, and on and on.
It was a remarkable day and made me REALLY proud for what this team does on a daily basis and a great reminder why we do our daily grind: to serve and help!
What is habitat for humanity exactly: Habitat for Humanity believes that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. They build and repair houses all over the world using volunteer labor and donations. Our partner families purchase these houses through no-profit, no-interest mortgage loans or innovative financing methods. Read more about our vision and mission principles.
Thanks! Hope to see you when we do it again next year…
