KITCHEN REMODELING IN FOCUS AT CITIZENSFIRST

OSHKOSH, Wisconsin (Aug. 28, 2011) – In the current market downturn, kitchen remodeling continues to be one of the best means of improving and maintaining home value. For that reason CitizensFirst will host a kitchen remodeling seminar covering a wide range of budgets and subjects.

“How to Design a Dream Kitchen for the Real World,” will take place Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 6:30 to 7:30 at the Highway 44 branch, 2900 Universal St., Oshkosh. It is free of charge and those interested in attending can register online at www.citizensfirst.com or call 1-800-448-9228. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Leading the presentation is Carly Miller, design consultant with Berlin Building Supply. Miller will cover such topics as cabinet types, materials and finishes, as well as countertops, unique storage solutions and other custom treatment ideas and layouts for kitchen remodels costing from $5,000 to $85,000. The latest in kitchen appliances will also be on display, courtesy of Kossel’s Appliances of Oshkosh.

“Kitchen remodels are big deal right now given the economy,” said Marcus Butts, community partnership coordinator at CitizensFirst. “They’re in the top ten of value producing home projects.”

Following the seminar, participants are encouraged to get further ideas and inspiration by attending the HomeStyle Kitchen Tour, which takes place Saturday, Sept. 15. The first ever kitchen tour event opens the doors to five newly remodeled Oshkosh kitchens, with proceeds going to benefit the Christine Anne Center. Times, locations and ticket prices can be found at www.homestyletour.org.

The kitchen remodeling seminar is part of an ongoing educational series, and with the kitchen tour reflect the commitment at CitizensFirst to providing consumers with the resources they need to make sound financial and home-related decisions. Seminars covering a variety of these topics take place every second Tuesday of the month. To learn more, please visit www.citizensfirst.com.
