Westlawn Neighborhood Revitalization Begins
The Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) is redeveloping Westlawn, Wisconsin’s largest public housing development. First developed in the 1950s, the 75-acre development on Milwaukee’s northwest side has provided critical affordable housing to a bustling city and is now in the process of being revitalized for 21st century housing and community needs.
Phase 1 of the construction project includes 250 housing units, new streets and civil utilities, and expanded green space between 60th Street and 64th Street from Silver Spring Drive on the north and Lincoln Creek on the south. Construction of the tax credit housing units will be completed by December, 2012. When fully completed, Phase I will include a total of up to 345 mixed-income units.
Our Team at Drexel will be supplying and installing the flooring for The Westlawn Redevelopment. We look forward to watching the transformation of this area unfold and are very proud to be a part of it.
