2017-2018 Construction Project

The 68 Construction class students were able to put their skills to practice with the help of Drexel Building Supply’s generous donation of lumber. They used the lumber to construct walls, rough frame window and doors, as well as cut rafters. This ended with the completion of constructing a 4×4 structure with a roof, door, window and siding.

The Building Construction Instructor; Vern Widmer says, “Without the generosity you have shown, the students would not have the beneficial and rewarding experiences. Working along side them and watching them gain confidence in problem solving, team work and using power tools has been inspirational”. With this experience, the students were able to gather knowledge about the different opportunities and careers offered in the trades.
